Osmany Garcia is coming straight from Cuba to perform at SOBs on May 24th. His infectious “Chupi Chupi” song has begun to takeover Latin radio stations. I’m a big fan of good Reggaeton, while his lyrics aren’t the best, the rhythm of the song is a great one for the clubs and well, to dance to. Check out the video for this remix below, the song seems to be going international. Also, if you haven’t done so, you need to get your tickets now : >>> http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=4576495
Travis Porter drops this new song fromt their upcoming release “From Day 1″, which will be available on May 29th. I can’t say that I’ve been a big fan of their music, but this one is okay. I’m going to have to really give their album a listen though. They will be performing here at SOBs on June 19th, so I’ll get to know their music better. Taylor…. Gang! Chevy Woods is coming straight out of Pittsburgh to NYC for his debut at SOBs on April 24th. There will be a few special guest appearances (no names, I’ve already wrote too much =x). So in the midst of his anticipated performance he drops a new track “U.S.A.”, which I believe caters to his core audience and really sounds special. Its a hard hitting record proudced by Young Jerz.

Obie Trice (“real name no gimmicks”, classic line) is having his release party for his album “Bottoms Up” tonight!! Come through to SOBs, send an RSVP to obietricelisteningevent@gmail.com . Until the show, make sure to check out the new video for his stand-out track “Spend the Day” featuring Drey Skonie. Obie Trice was definitely one of the underrated MC’s on Shady Records rosters for a while and even though he is no longer on Shady Eminem has shown full support for Obie’s release by including a verse on the song “Richard” on this album. After years of delay “Bottoms Up” is officially on the shelves, I guess we can all raise our glasses and cheers to that.
MMG signee Stalley released his new mixtape today, as he had promised fans. If you haven’t done so, you need to go Download it Here now!! I’m easily becoming a fan of Stalley through listening to his constintency in mixtapes and features. Hopefully, Stalley has his chance to blow up thanks to the MMG team (Wale and Meek Mill have been successful thanks to Ross right?). He could be next up, so its only right that he performs at SOBs. Stalley is set to rock our legendary stage on April 4th, so you need to get your tickets now!!
The last couple of weeks at SOBs have been interesting. There has been the usual arrays of shows, and some monumental (DMX returns to NYC at SOBs, the upcoming sold-out show by The-Dream, etc.), but the major event that has culminated from the major staff is this one. The moment that legends are made of; in big part the world should thank Le’Roy Benros, Kozza, and Larry Gold who have been working their butt off for this. The 30th Year Celebration of SOBs. During one of the major music conferences in the United States, South by Southwest. Which may also be one of the biggest international music conferences! This year its gonna be amazing check out the line-up for the SOBs Concert : Slaughterhouse, Machine Gun Kelly, Miguel, Mystikal, 2 Chainz, Nikki Jean, Travis Porter, Elle Varner, CJ Hilton, Maya Azucena, The Airplane Boys, and Anthm. Hosted by: Lowkey and DJ Meka. If you’re in the area anywhere near Texas, you have to attend this event!!! The conference itself will be epic, major music industry players will be in attendance. Expect many entertainment industry folks also on the scene. Lionel Richie will be headlining. Most of the SOBs staff will be there. Kozza will be performing with Andy Suzuki and The Method. Also, Jay-Z is set to be performing as a special last minute guest!!!
This might be one of the biggest thing on the planet happening next week!! So prepare yourself to be bombared with tweets, tumblrs, and facebooks statuses about it. And while I’m very excited for this event, I won’t be attending =/. Matter fact, I won’t even be able to attend The-Dream’s sold-out show this weekend as I leave for Miami on Sunday -_- lol.. (*Note to Self* Plan vacation in Miami next year, on any date but the one that lands on the SXSW conference )
So i just saw this video and it follows this new idea of doing videos in one shot, and well, it is really awesome and kind of reminds me of The Death Cab video for You Are a Tourist. I would probably classify Charlene Kaye as some really good indie pop. The video only fits her vibe better, it feels original, and authentic. Strictly focusing on the song the indie pop is complemented by some surf rock tones in the guitar which actually give it a summery feel that you wouldn’t expect. By the second chorus I knew all the words. Really really catchy stuff. The song kind of reminds me of mixing Dale and The Deltones with Madonna, Katy Perry, and Foster The People. Yeah i know crazy combo but honestly you can hear a little bit of everyone in it. Charlene Kaye will also be playing SOBs tomorrow night so if you dig the video you’d be making a mistake to not come. See you here. enjoy.
You may find the name Marcus Manchild a bit familiar and it is probably because he rocked the fuck out of a sold out show at SOBs opening up for 2Chainz. Today we have “Problems” off of Marcus’s upcoming mixtape “Space Jams 2″ featuring none other than the southern legend Bun B. Both go in hard about some of the problems they have had in their lives lately and both murder their verses. Marcus Manchild is a beast to look out for, his flow is on point, and his swagger is untouchable. This is a track you don’t want to miss.
